She first began writing as a child and it became her passion. Her love of writing inspired her to study journalism at the University of South Dakota. She ended up dropping out to follow her heart and make a living as a teacher.

It wasn't long before she discovered she loved working with children as much as she loved writing. She is now the full-time mother of two teenage girls and teaches third grade at a small private school in Aberdeen, SD.

If there was a moral issue involved, she would, of course, defend her position to the end.
